Noise in the country is everywhere. Indians are vigorous people. They often organized festivals making the streets busy resulting to heavy traffic and appearance of street vendors. Use earplugs to divest your attention from the noise. Another problem tourist’s encounter in India is the smell. The distinctive and strong odor is from the spices and open canals.

Uncontrollable sellers in India are prominent. Taxi drivers, vendors, and hotel hawkers will approach you as soon as you get out from the airport. This situation should be expected in developing countries. People do everything they can do to earn money for their daily living. Taxi fare, hotel charges, and market shops can be bargained making India one of the cheapest travel destinations in the world.

Expect beggars to be approaching you as you walk in the streets. Getting rid of the beggars is up to you to solve but as much as possible never hurt them. Some Indians who are unemployed and have no permanent homes end up begging in order to survive. This form of living is acceptable in India. Giving money to beggars is not really recommended. Instead, donations can be rendered to the organizations and charities of India.

Tourists who stay for weeks in India sometimes experience illness. This is due to the unsanitary conditions of the place. Some restaurants may serve filthy water and undercooked food. It is best to buy bottled waters and eat in restaurants recommended to tourists. Although medicine and doctor is affordable in India, prevention is always a must.

Heavy traffic is always visible in India. You should consider departing an hour before to arrive on your destination on time. Public transportations are congested and this is where thieves attack tourists. Take caution to keep your belongings in a safe place. Don’t expose jewelries, money, and gadgets to the public. When riding the bus, choose the expensive and comfortable ones like the Volvo Bus. Domestic air flights are inexpensive but this would be too much if you’re budgeting.

Indians are known as conservative people. The Western style of clothing is accepted in some areas of the country like Mumbai, Bangalore, and Goa. Prevent yourself from wearing fit and sexy clothes like tank tops and miniskirts when visiting sacred sites of India and rural areas.
