The immigration of Brazil strictly implies that the travel visa will only be valid for 90 days. Expiration of the visa won’t allow tourists to enter the country after 90 days from approval.  The process time for the visa will take up to 4 weeks. Your passport will be sent to the Brazilian Embassy for approval.

The Brazilian immigration in Brazil is authoritarian. Upon arrival to the airport, you will be taken a picture and fingerprint. You shouldn’t complain about the rules implemented because a penalty of $15,000 will be charged to you.

In some areas of Brazil, vaccination of yellow fever is an important requirement before you enter the city. This is a viral disease from a bite of a female mosquito abundant in tropical areas like South America. You should bring a complete record of your vaccinations in case the immigration will require other vaccination aside from yellow fever. You can consult your doctor for the vaccination of yellow fever and certificate. In the US, there’s a company known as Passport Health that assists travelers in their vaccine needs and health insurance.

Another high rate matter in Brazil is crime. Reported crimes have flourished in the streets especially in tourist destinations like beaches, hotels, and nightclubs. All tourists are warned about the situation. You should ensure safety when traveling to areas of Brazil. Alertness is a must at all times. Public transportations such as trains and buses are where most criminals like pick pockets victimize. It is better to rent a car or ride a cab. Prevent yourself from the use of ATM’s and credit cards. A traveler’s check is more suitable in countries with high crime rate. Keep your personal belongings in a safe place. Don’t expose items like mobile phones, money, and jewelries to the public. Don’t trust anyone and act like a local.

Brazil is a very nice country for tourists to exploit. People are warm and welcoming but caution is very important to prevent unnecessary events during your trip. Safety and health should be a priority.
